Nafplio is one of my favourite destinations... A beautiful town in Peloponnese. The best thing about it is that it's close to Athens, so you can easily make a daily trip there, escape from madness, get some fresh air and enjoy the picturesque view and the amazing energy of this place. The following photos are from the previous summer...
If you go to Nafplio, you must visit Palamidi, the fortress to the east of the Acronauplia. The view is just breathtaking...
In the castle you will also see the prison hole in which Kolokotronis was held for six months, as well as other cells.
The town is beautiful.. You can stroll around the alleys, drink coffee in Syntagma Square located in the center of Old Town and enjoy a carefree day...
The Archeological Museum is of great interest as well. It is made of stone and it is said to be one of the best well preserved Venetian structures in Greece. The most exquisite piece is the Bronze Suit Armor from the Mycenaean tomb in Dendra region.
The best way to end this post is with my favourite photo of the "bloomed house" or "hairy house" as I call it... The house that provokes several emotions according to my mood...
