Hi guys,
today i want to show you the photo with which i participated for the first time in a competition 2015/2016 of the magazine DOCMA, with the topic „Privatsphäre kaputt? – Das Leben vor der Kamera“ - „Privacy broken? - Life in front of the camera“, and took second place.
The Topic
Man is curious. There has always been an interest in the private life of others. In the past it was mostly gossip and gossip, but with the invention of photography it became possible to put private things into pictures and make them public. The prey of the paparazzi, captured with the telephoto lens, the selfie shot with the mobile phone camera or the unnoticed shots of the surveillance cameras provide intimate insights and testify to a very special visual language.
This year's DOCMA Award, the most renowned competition for digital art in the German-speaking world, focuses on the relationship between camera and privacy. The best works will be presented in an exhibition at the Museum für Kommunikation.
I heard about this competition by coincidence and browsed through my photographs to find a photo that matched the theme.
That was the picture that i thought could have been a good fit.
So i submitted it and months later i received a first notification which put the photo in a shortlist.
Again months later my second place was confirmed with a request to select a price from the pool.
I chose the Sigma Art 35mm F1,4 DG HSM lense.
Without words a pointed device!
The winning photos were exhibited from 9 July to 25 October 2015 in the Museum für Kommunikation, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
It was exciting!
That was the end of it!
Thanks for reading!
With kind regards
e.
