To all swan fans before you burn me on a stake please know that am not a witch nor I practice witchcraft it's just ... again ... click bait. I've been gone for days, I know but in my defense I got pecked, I mean .. I caught a flu and you can blame these swans for it (yeah right!)but that's just half the truth of it .. okay that, I admit.
What happened was ... I had too much of a fun night outs last weekend and I guess, part of being a Steemian is posting till midnight or even later than that. The lack of sleep brought my immune system down but you won't notice that till your body starts telling you so.
I did take a rest but because I had to attend a certain class I paid for on Tuesdays, I went out to take a stroll. I wasn't planning on taking a long one because my energy was down, it was cold and my nose was already running till a pile of sycamore and beech leaves called me to take a shoot of them lying on the road boasting with tones of gold. Made me wonder .. I was sure we didn't have a storm but look...
More leaves pics till I cross the road and found him. I just took the first show below but he's eyed me, too and swam towards me probably thinking I got me some bread to spare.
Unfortunately, I didn't so he left me then. I however, cooed on the bank of that man made mere till it started drizzling!harder which made me ran to the short cut to make it home fast. Seriously, if you are in the Netherlands and it's autumn, you gotta be carrying umbrella right? I did but it was on my ( I don't want to divulge it now) bag so I didn't bother taking it out and just soaked a bit.
I did run but the crows and the look of this tree on the grayed drizzling sky got me distracted I paused to take just two shots despite knowing that the shot may not be as clear as I want it to be. Can you spot them crows btw?
In my defense, I thought I was fever proof but my body begs to differ. Burning for days isn't fun specially if breathing felt like a task. Why do our nose run and for some reasons, my eyes decided to join it and went on auto cry mode. I should have known I had to step on the breaks right? Well, I woke up the next morning, feeling better, fever seem to have taken AWOL and my runny nose turned clogged. I knew I had to take a rest but I was bored like now being inside the house in autumn could get you depressive so I went out to really just take a stroll.
Unfortunately, I found this family swimming and feeding on the algae on that "pea soup" like man-made meer and they called me, too asking to shoot, shoot, shoot in the middle of the pouring rain - again without an umbrella. I agree, it wasn't very smart but it's hard to resist them. BTW, there's something odd about this pic can you tell what?
After too many nights of listening to blues, oldies and playlists of strings from my own channel, I decided it's enough. I don't think it would hurt posting for tonight and share some of them pics that got me the autumn fever - specially that they came this close to me yesterday. It was obviously sunny so it wasn't so bad. I wanted to hug them but I was worried the parents would get aggressive and I would want to enjoy them like so, tame, gracefully eyeing me and just grazing around. I really want to hug one like I used to do with our ducks back at gramps' house when we were young. No, they don't carry bird's flu - my husband caught the flu first and had I just had enough sleep I wouldn't have caught it, too. Oh well, more reasons not to hug them swans.
Did you notice they aren't ringed yet? I supposed they're not from here. No tag
Okay, so I did chase them but not the type that would make them go flying away. I hope they're here to stay. I sometimes see them in the water in front of our house, hopefully, these were the couple that followed me home last year - the ones I pasted as a comment - shopping :). . Yes, I went for walks despite the chill and my fever. Why? I don't want to miss out on trees showing out their best tones in autumn. Time flies and before you know it they'd soon be leafless .
Is it silly to post sick and burning up a lil'? I'm very bored now, my husband's out and would be back home pretty late plus watching tv is no fun so I thought of going online right now.. am hoping for some "hahaha" moments from my favorite authors here. We'll see. It's taking a lot longer just uploading pics tonight .. more than the usual.
Have a great weekend and stay healthy ;)!
This content's 100% mine. I took the pics with all of my Samsung phones and used their filters.
