Our photo session was cut short and we all had to run for shade when the heavens decided to have its tantrums and started sobbing. Our last ride for that combi - adventure was just approaching and we're all still very hyper while waiting for it on the dock.
Everyone's a bit glad the heavens held its tears till the train ride was over. Truth is, the air was chilly and gray clouds were building up when we were approaching the last station. At first we had no idea how on earth we're going to cross that very busy highway below.
We found out, the moment we got there that we just have to go through an underpass which vomited all of us - a walk away to the dock.
I found this and I was hoping to get the whole scene in front of me in a horizontal frame but the heavens already couldn't contain it any longer so I had to haste and all of the horizon on my shots were tilted.
There was nothing special around the dock aside from the ships parked in front of us and what looked like mangroves around us. Only the mountain displays behind that ship we're waiting for is photogenic imho.
The ship finally docked and we all got boxed, ribboned, carried and tossed into it by the captain and his crew. Okay, just kidding! One of the crew and the captain welcomed us aboard. Actually, when we were on the ticket booth we were asked whether we want to do the whole combi and my husband hesitated but YOLO is a great push just in case you need it. Am glad we did cause I was curious what the Lake would look like in the water when we were in Briens. Remember, we went ship watching that day. Well, I prefer checking it out on land although it does have a different face when I was on the boat.
There's not much to see here aside from water, water, water, road, traffic, mountain tops and more water vehicles aside from the fact that the water on this one doesn't look very inviting for a swim.
I went to the loo and got thirsty so I took a look at what I could snack on board and my jaw dropped while my eyes almost popped out at the price of a beer that seemed to have gone ten times the normal price of it in NL. I reached for my water bottle and took out the organic energy bar I have in my bag. I'm sure glad I brought food and water with me. The others decided it won't be long till we get to the city and held their cravings. My husband joined me and that family of Indians outside.
Soon, we were closing in to the city, this is all I could see of where we came from. I decided to go out and eat my energy bar there since the heavens finally got pacified. It was chilly but bearable. Well, I wanted frames of the view from behind those glass windows.
Another Asian woman approached me asking whether I wasn't cold since she's wearing a sweater and still crossing her arms for additional warmth while am only on my tee so I told her it is more of a summer feel where I came from. It was more than 21 degree Celcius but I get her, the wind and those tiny flying kisses the water would throw your skin would really make you feel cold.
The conversation was so engaging, I forgot that I wanted to take mementos on frames for this trip and before we knew it, we're almost docking.
One last look at our last ride for this adventure and those proud mountains on the other side and we squeezed in a huge crowd waiting for a Dutch guy's concert which filled the road to the bus station. I can't count the times I was shoved by people rushing to the metro and their buses and am sure glad my karate reflex didn't get activated when one old guy pushed me quite hard with his wet umbrella. His next victim who was a lady walking in front of me gave him a big mouth which caused a domino effect of whines against him. I guess everyone was rushing to wherever they're going cause it was already dinner time.
We headed to lane A which was way on the other side of the road and went pass a landmark I wanted to check out cause it down poured out of the blue. While we were waiting for bus 1, a guy was asking everyone around to spare him a euro or two. I was surprised how well dressed he was. He actually looked neat and his clothes don't look like a normal beggar. He must have a story to tell. Our bus finally arrived and we sat at the very back. A guy with a headset on was singing loudly and finally made me realize how tired I was. Nobody dares tell him he was making more of a noise than singing and this is normalcy in the EU so when he got off, everyone giggled out of relief.
Soon, it was our turn to get off and we still have to walk back to the parking across the ticket booth to get to our car. My husband asked; " Are you ready for another hike? " Well, we had to climb those stairs and follow that stroll path to finally get there. I was looking forward for a Korean meal so I didn't care nor really realize how tired my legs were after all those days of hiking till we got to our hotel.
Oh well, I guess this is how packages feel after going through several rides but hey, it's not so bad being shipped back to the city center yeah and as we say it in Dutch this bucket list of my husband is : "Geslaagd!"
This content's 100% mine . Except for the pic of me that my husband took, I took some of the pics with my D Eye and some with my smartphones.
