Hi guys, hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! The weather here in Ireland is wonderful and I haven't seen so much sun in a long , long time.
I have a lot of work that I can post on here and most of it is recent and good quality. I've done fashion shoots outside and in studios , events, fashion shows , vintage and cosplay however there was a point where it all started. It all began when I had my first ever modelling photoshoot, I was fascinated by all the equipment , workflow and general atmosphere of the photoshoot. I was asking a lot of questions and wanted to know more about what was happening inside the camera.
I started off using my phone which was one of the first ever touch screen phones by Samsung ( which was bright pink (⌒▽⌒)☆ ) and I took pictures of everything I found interesting like textures, nature and people. Maybe one day I will post those awful quality pictures (๑꒪▿꒪)*
For now I want to show you my first ever time working with a proper team and a model, we had a makeup artist who's name is Noeleen Cunningham who did the styling and the hair of the girls which made my work so much easier and two models and photographers , myself and Fely Cayaban , Danah and Leona.
I brought my prom dress which looked amazing on Danah (girl in the picture above) and my retouching process was a lot different before. I used to "paint" over the face and add a lot of light overlays to add a more magical feeling which is why it feels like the photo is a painting more than an image.
Of course now I can see all the mistakes in these photos like the discoloration on the skin, the blurriness, the distractions however at the time this was the best work I've ever done in my own experience. I was delighted.
I loved dark fantasy type of work and it was my dream to be like Emily Soto who is to this day my inspiration. Her work is at times over-processed but that is her style which I can distinguish if her images are mixed in with other photographer's work. That is what is important when starting photography, having a style that other people can distinguish you from.
I was only experimenting in this photoshoot, trying to find myself and how I can portray the world in my own eyes.
All I used for these images was my NikonD90 which I used at the time and my 50mm 1.8 lens and a reflector.
Everybody starts somewhere!!! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I hope you guys enjoyed this series and if you have any questions let me know !
