In January I saw an American Robin in my backyard but it flew away before I could get to my camera. That robin was the true definition of an early bird.
Yesterday the high temperature was over 50 degrees (F) and it felt like spring. While I was at my camera I spotted this American Robin in my backyard.
Photographs taken on 26 February 2018.
American Robin
American Robins do not spend the winter in this area. When you see them in the area, you know spring is coming soon.

Here is the range map for American Robins.
I watched this robin pecking at the berries that had fallen to the ground.

When I think about how wonderful it is to capture these moments, I often realize how little I had to do with making these wonderful moments. For I am just the guy behind the camera.
