I often get very restless on my birthday, as I reflect on the previous year and think about what the next year will bring. I couldn't sleep. As I rolled over in my guesthouse bed, I saw the sky through my window. It was stormy and red, almost apocalyptic. Contrasting it was a very still sea, reflecting the clouds and almost absorbing their moodiness. It was an unusually warm November morning in Paralia, Greece. I opened the glass door and came out onto the balcony. The air was salty and soft, and the seagulls sailed the windless sky, criss-crossing my view. There was not a single person out, as far as the eye could see. The whole scene was magical and somehow very profound. I stood there, absorbing it all. "Be more like the sea", I thought.
