I already took several pictures of fire in the last years. Fire is a very nice element and it looks amazing on pictures. But in reality it always blows my mind, i like the sound it makes, the nice smell that keeps me thinking of grilled stakes when doing a Barbecue and the different colors it produces when burning wood, coal, gas and other materials. But still a wood fire is my favorite. I am already looking forward to summer when i will be with my stepfather doing several Barbecues in the garden.
When taking pictures of fire you should't rely on an automatic mode or half automatic mode of your Camera. Best one here is manual mode where you can keep the exposure time very low. So you really catch the colors of the flames and the ember. I always do a little experimenting with exposure time and aperture when taking pictures of flames. To get a little more drama in the pictures i increased the saturation a bit.
