As a frenetic street photographer myself I always tend to leave some feedback under blog entries that capture my eye and try doing so without sounding too critical. So here goes that:
Regarding the quote from Capa, getting up close certainly helps getting captivating captures when shooting the streets. In particular so because it allows you to "step in the moment" as the photographer and to work extreme angles, offering a plethora of tools for interpretation of the scene. Nevertheless, it s my opinion that Capa meant as well that, as photographer in general, but certainly so when hitting the streets, it is of great importance to feel "close" to your subject. To show respect, empathy and thus fully understand the scene and your role as observer in it so you can ultimately redefine your role in the scene and take part n it. That being said, I do think you could get even closer (literally this time around) to your subjects in the future. While 2, 3, 4 and 12 are my personal favourites of your series, I feel like all of the images could do with some more "tension". The way they are presented here, the scenes often still shows just that: a scene captured from outside, as an observer would see them. But step in closer and I think you would agree that a world of possible compositions and stories to tell opens up for you to be part of.
Anyway, just my two cent worth. Will certainly follow you and see how this challenge further develops!! Thanks for sharing!
