Howdy,
Autumn has almost come to an end, here in southern Minnesota. Where prairie has been preserved, the tall grasses and twiggy plants have become scraggly and tough. They certainly look different without their spring and summer floral adornment, but they're still pretty in their way.
Surprisingly, the temperatures warmed up a bit and there were even a few insects flying around. The spiders have also been leaving webs between the branches. The next image is the same species as the last. The sun streamed between the branches, just for a few seconds, lighting up the spiny puffs quite nicely.
These tough, stocky beams were covered in flowers not very long ago. Now, they look almost cactus-like. They are pretty tough, too. They barely swayed when the wind gusted.
There are a lot of tall grasses. This one was in a spot that had a little more sunlight.
Leaving the prairie, I stopped by the waterfall on the other side of the park for a quick photo. I wasn't going to include this one, but it was kind of a fun edit and a little different from my usual style.
With the end of fall has also come an end to unemployment. I am currently completing the last bits of paperwork necessary to start a new position in a non-profit. If everything goes through, I will be starting early next month. Hopefully, dyslexia and poor eyesight won't be too much of a problem.
