Portland Plants 10:
A few days ago it stopped raining for a few hours. I stopped in a neighborhood on the way to the grocery store and spent some time taking photos.
Most of the plants are plants that I've already photographed, but I did find some a couple new ones, as well as some new (to me) variations on familiar plants.
Here are some of the cool plants that I found on the way to the grocery store.
I feel like I already have a million photos of Daffodils. Normally they're all white, white with a yellow ring, yellow with a yellow ring, or white with an orange ring. These are the first ones that I've seen that are white with a peach ring.
I'm starting to see more and more of these kinds of flowers.
Normally, flowers at intersections mean that someone was killed there. I don't know if that's why these flowers were put here.
I wish I was better at taking wide shots. This group of trees must have millions of flowers growing on them. This "tree" is actually a pink flower tree, a red flower tree, a yellow flower tree, and a white flower tree all growing together.
One type of flower that was growing in that group of flower trees.
Another type of flower growing in the group of flower trees.
Not only were the flower trees growing 4 across, it looked like they went 5 or 6 trees deep as well.
One house had an awesome little garden in the front yard.
This flower was the only one of its kind in a patch of Daffodils. I can't tell if it's a different flower or a deformed Daffodil.
I only have 1 photo of this flower, but it turned out pretty nice.
I've been trying to monitor the progress of this type of tree. The last time I took a photo of one of these pods, it had just opened and the little balls inside were all green. Now it looks like they're turning red. I'm curious to see what they'll do next. I hope these pods will turn into flowers.
I finally found one of these flowers all opened up! It almost looks like the flower has been stuffed with matchsticks.
These flowers grow by the billion on HUGE trees. It doesn't look like the flowers are going to last very long, but they are a sight to see while in bloom.
Here are some tiny little flowers that I think grow on a bush.
These things were too weird not to post. I have no idea what this plant is going to do.
This plant reminds me of smoke.
I have seen and photographed this thorny little red plant previously. This is the first time I've seen it flowering.
The flowers start out as little reddish berries that burst open into flowers.
This plant also has actual berries.
Inside the flowers, it looks like there's a little green donut or something.
I'm going to call it quits here. I've got some more photos from this outing, but I'm going to save them for a rainy day (literally).
I hope you enjoyed some of my photos!
