Portland Plants 2:
This post looks better on Busy.org which allows you to click on images and see them full-screen.
I've gone out and taken some more photos of the plants in my neighborhood. I still need help identifying some of them, but I think my last post was a little too easy. I'm going change the payouts for correct identifications based on how difficult I think the plant is. I'll note how much each plant is worth (some that I know the names of won't be worth anything).
Rules: To win the rewards, you need to have the first correct answer and you must include links to a website with photos and information about the plant. I'm also going to set a 3 SBD win limit per user, per post. I don't want these post to only be about me giving all of my SBD to a single gardener. I'd like multiple people to earn a little something from these posts. You must upvote this post to qualify for identification rewards.
Now that the formalities are out of the way, let's take a look at some plants!
Plant 1
Plant 1 is free because I'm pretty sure it's a Cherry Blossom. I will give 1 SBD if you can prove me wrong.
Plant 2
Plant 2 is also free because I think I've got this one identified. Though most of the Daphne plants around here don't have red berries (or I didn't notice them), the lighter edges of the leaves give this plant away. I'll offer 1 SBD if you can prove that I've misidentified this plant.
Plant 3
At first, I thought Plant 3 was a giant rose bush. It kind of smelled like it too. But no other roses are blooming and they don't normally grow this tall, so I don't think my guess is correct. I have an idea of what plant this is, but I couldn't find any images that look like this plant. I'll give 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 4
Plant 4 is fairly common out here. I've seen this plant decorating multiple yards in the area. I don't know what plant this is, so I'll give 0.5 SBD for proof of identification.
Plant 5
Plant 5 is a short, evergreen-looking, bush or shrub with tiny purple flowers all over it. This plant is very common in my neighborhood. I'm offering 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 6
Plant 6 is remarkably ugly and uninteresting. I don't know if the flowers change colors throughout the year, but they look boring as hell in their current state. I am offering 0.5 SBD for the correct identification of this unphotogenic plant.
Plant 7
Plant 7 may be the babies of an already identified plant. I don't remember where I took this photo and have no idea which plant it is. This seems a little more difficult so I'm offering 1.0 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 8
Plant 8 is one of my favorites. I love how the flowers have little green dots on the outside of the pedals. I think this will be an easy identification for flower people and gardeners. I am offering 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 9
Plant 9 comes in multiple colors and it's the funkiest plant of this post. The red/pink one is so bright and freaky looking that I can't help but to love it. Being so common to the area, I'm only offering 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 10
Plant 10 is a plant that catches my eye every time I see one. I don't know what the hell is going on with this freaky-ass plant, but I love it! I have no idea what plant this is so I'm offering 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 11
Plant 11 is a pale purple color and seemed unique to the area. I believe this is the only one of its kind that I've seen on 3 plant-hunting expeditions. I'm offering 0.5 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
Plant 12
Plant 12 is the last plant of this post. I'm expecting this to be a little more difficult so I'm offering 1.0 SBD for proof of identification of this plant.
That's it for this post. Good luck identifying these plants! Be sure to include a link if you want your identification to qualify for the reward.
