Portland Plants 8: The Leftovers
It has been cold and wet for the past few days, here in Portland Oregon. When the weather gets like this, I put on my sweats, lock the door, and don't stray far from the loving warmth of my computer. While I am able to stay warm and dry, I'm not able to get any good photos from the comfort of my office chair. Thankfully, I've got extra photos from some of my previous outings.
Here are some of the unused photos that I've taken so far this year.
This isn't a particularly attractive plant, but it is unique to me. At first, I thought that this plant was construction rubbish. It looks like the black plastic straps that are used to hold boxes together.
These are just some big, moss-covered trees that I liked. Portland seems to have millions of these types of trees.
I think these two photos might be of the same plant. The photos are right next to each other chronologically.
This plant isn't very impressive, but I like how the red berries draw your eyes down, while the focus draws your eyes up toward the flowers.
I don't see many cacti in Portland, but I found a house that had a giant one in its front yard.
Mushrooms are such strange and seemingly alien life forms that I had to get a few photos when I spotted this patch.
I want to say that this is a Japanese Maple because of the color of the leaves, but I'm not so sure. All of the other Japanese Maples only have small buds and no leaves yet. The Maple branches also grow more parallel with the ground, instead of up and down like this tree.
These are just some pretty flowers that I spotted in someone's front yard.
That's about it for this post. I know it's only half as long as my usual posts, but I'm running low on photos to use. Hopefully, the rain will stop and I can get out there and at least get some overcast photos. We'll see.
I hope you're all enjoying Spring so far!
