I love to go for walks alone, let my nose guide me and explore new places, get lost if time allows me. This image was taken on one of those journeys..
I always wanted to cross the railway bridge in the medieval town of Loket{Czech.Republic} where we sometimes go to visit family friends walking.
I love the Railway.. The smell of tar painted railway sleepers. The old dim light balls of illuminated humidity on moist early morning. Atmosphere of long gone grace of an old abandoned station. Old unused tracks that nature almost managed to swallow, unknown destinations long lost. The fact that a train may just come at any moment. Corroded metal bridges..
The construction of the bridge is circa 1950's corroded steel. 90% of it.. The rest is wood.
I was amazed to find these resilient residents there..
The train passes this bridge couple of times per day.. less often than the occasional local crossing to the other side of the river.. It is not officially allowed since there's no pedestrian path, but who gives a damn?
Certainly not these solemn existences, who may appreciate organic company from time to time..
What a life; surrounded by metal. The only ones strong enough to survive the conditions, growing from a crack in a wooden beam, the only organic matter around.. Hanging in mid air over a river..
