Hi guys !
Yesterday, I had the chance to visit an old quarry full of History. Welcome to the Hennocque quarry !
Located in France in the town "Méry-sur-Oise", this huge quarry covers 35 hectares. It has several entrances, we took one near a railway. There's no light, so we need good flashlights to see through the dark.
Hitler planned to install missile launch facilities for v2 missiles. But the war was stopped a little bit before the nazis could install the missiles, even if some tests had been made.
But now, let's go deeper !
The quarry was occupied by the nazis during the occupation. A tiny part of the quarry is an unfinished station. It's a long corridor.
This is a resin for electric cables. Even if a rule is to leave everything as it was (except for tagging and sculpting) some people come here to take anthing they can sale. Apparently this is not valuable.
But people came to take a part of an electric wire
We believe this is a place where people can rest when they're tired. Well, as long as the hooks hold the ceiling, it works.
Some walls give access to other rooms.
Further is a door when the trains could pass. It was severely protected with a machine gun. Here is where the weapon was installed.
Some tags are pretty cool.
Farther, we came across a place with tables, a bar and a scene for a DJ. Rave parties sometimes take place here.
And it even has toilet !
It's time to mount. The ceiling is low and give us access to another corridor.
These bags of ciment hold the structure to stay in place.
And this car helps to... I'm sure it helps somehow.
Let's leave the station to get to the quarry.
We arrived at the mushroom farm. It's full of aisles with limestone and water... and surprises.
There's a boiler.
This is the impact aera of a shell that landed just above. It's huge !
After that we found places where artists tagged or sculpted within the stone. It's beautifull. We had to go through flooded corridors and had to walk on stones or limestones just on the surface.
A memorial for a bat, with a bat skeleton.
Let's eat a little !
And we slowly get to the exit.
This is called the "Lulu's room"
Time to really exit the quarry !

It was a really fun ! If you come to Paris and you like to do urbex. Search for the Hennocque quarry, it's impressive and fun to do with friends.
Of course this publication shows only a little bit of what can be found, to do the whole quarry might take days !
Thanks to my guide, Bob, who is very familiar with the place, giving me good facts and guiding us through this amazing maze.
