Let's go back to the summer for the moment. I found out that I never posted anything about my visit to the sand quarry I did in July last year. I had wanted to go there a couple of years but never did for some reason, until this time. Called up a friend to join me on the exploration and off we went. This quarry is not abandoned, gathering sand is very much active there today but all that's been left of the mining are these huge holes, which go full of water instantly because of groundwater in the area.
There are many lakes in the area where I have been often but this time I wanted to see this other area where the road goes through the lake, water being on both sides of the road.
Weather on that evening was exceptionally hot, we also thought about going swimming but the water was oddly enough freezing cold, even in mid-July. Also, this place was hugely populated by mosquitoes but they just flew over our heads and didn't bother to suck us dry from the blood.
I saw these sand mountains and climbed on to them. Even though there were signs all over the place that this is prohibited, I took my chances. I wanted to get a better areal view of the place.
We sat around a little bit, enjoyed the nature and soon sun went down and it started to get darker, at that point, we started to walk back. Overall I loved the place and looking forward to going back there again in the summer to hike( or maybe even winter )
