When the Downtown MRT Line (Blue Line) opened here at Singapore, we set off to check the aesthetics and design of each station. After checking out few stations, we kinda noticed a common theme: vibrancy and contrast.♥
We explored this fully underground MRT line when it was already operational after the completion of its stage 2 construction. Though warm for the eyes, we like the aesthetic of the Bencoolen Station (photo above) which uses aluminum composite cladding with different hues of orange throughout its interior walls.
We also liked the interior aesthetic of Rochor Station, which uses perforated aluminum panels formed into continuous sheets with slanting breaks. Their modern take on this minimalist design makes it looks so cool!☺
Anyone playing Minecraft? ro Tetris?☺The interior walls at the train platform at Geylang Bahru Station are made of colorful aluminum claddings which are placed randomly. ♥
