August 2018. Finally here is the first photo I took in August 2018! During the day of 15 August while everybody has gone far from Athens I decided to stay downtown! The city was calm and empty of people, the light was almost perfect and the sky color was very inspiring! The best day for a photo safari! I have had a walk for a while in the center city and stopped in front of this beautiful monument. It is the National Library. At that moment the sunlight has had colorate part of the structure and I took this photo from an unusual point of view for accentuating this sunlight action on the marbles. And a few words about this monument: It consists of three solid sections, of which the middle one, which is the largest, operates the reading room with the glass ceiling. The building was completed thanks to the donation of Panagis Vallianos, a Russian expatriate, and its main characteristic is the double curved renaissance stairway that we can see on the outside of the building.
