This is a sacred temple site, located on the top of Phnom Bok in Siem Reab province, Cambodia.
To reach the site you have to climb a very long and steep staircase, wich is very exhausting and sweaty when the sun is out, imaging climbing the stairs in the picture below at 40 degrees celcius...
This is the view you get when you reach the top of the hill.
Now i will show you what the actual temple site looks like. Its also part of the Angkor Wat complex, wich is huge, and has temples and sacred sites in many locations in the province. This particular hill is about 2 hours by motorcycle from the city of Siem Reap.
Pictures dont do this place justice but for me it was an amazing experience. Just thinking about how they got all the stone building materials up that steep hill, its quite an impressive feat of engineering and craftsmanship, not to mention the elaborate and intricate carvings on the walls. Its also not been excavated or reconstructed, so it really feels almost as if you are the first person to ever lay eyes upon the site. When I visited the site, i had the place all to myself, nobody else was there, it was an experience i will never forget and thats why i decided to share this adventure with the steemit community.
Hope you get somewhat of an impression of what it was like.
Thanks for reading this post :)
