This image has become a symbol of famine in Africa. This horrific picture was taken in March 1993 in the village of Ayod in southern Sudan by South African photographer named Kevin Carter, 33. In the picture we see a Sudanese child starving and terribly weak, so that he is not able to move. And Eagle is waiting for the decisive moment to attack his prey.
When he witnessed this scene of symbolic strength, unparalleled in famine in the region, the photographer pressed the camera button and picked up at least five pictures. Carter waited for about 20 minutes in the hope that the Eagle would extend its wings and bring out the most powerful image. But the eagle did not open its wings and after a few minutes the photographer decided to expel the animal and moved away to cry. This is confirmed by Le Monde, which re-analyzed this strong picture in 2013.
