Selfie with St. Peter's Basilica
Vatican City, Italy
While I was in Rome earlier this month, I stopped by the Vatican to see St. Peter's Basilica. I did not pay to go inside the chapel, but I went to St. Peter's Square to see what it was all about. To my surprise, the surrounding area was not nearly as crowded as I was expecting. Here's a selfie I took with the massive St. Peter's Basilica in the background with rows of vacant chairs. This is the largest church in the world and a renowned piece of Renaissance architecture. The tomb of St. Peter, the chief apostle of Jesus Christ, is reportedly buried beneath the high altar of the Basilica.
