A few years ago I flew out to the heart of middle America to meet up with Kara to shoot. She's the typical mid-western, American, trucker, girl. Before flying out there, I knew I wanted to keep it as authentic as possible. I had this American Woman theme in mind.
When I got there, she showed me around, pointed me to a barn behind her house, a few guns, etc. After seeing this, I realized we didn't need to leave her property to accomplish the theme and being that it was all hers, it was as authentic as it could get.
Fast forward to today, looking back at this photo and everything going on in America, every time I cross this photo I think about how this is starting to resemble America more than ever since I've been alive. When I first took this photo, it was looked upon as sexy, a pretty girl, holding a gun. However, in 2017, it has a completely different meaning, most of which seem uncomfortable compared to before.
Here are some more fun shots we captured over the few days I spent out there. These photos were just taken for fun, just like most of the stuff I shoot.
