This is an interesting plant I saw in the flower market in Bangkok. A coconut shell is used as the planter but this isn't a coconut plant. The top part appears to look a bit like a bird's nest fern and the roots are encased inside the coconut shell. The hanging vines underneath the coconut is actually a separate plant, and my guess would be a Tillandsia usneoides cascade. Tillandsia are airplants that don't need to be planted in soil to survive. I really loved this plant and wish I could have taken it home. Anyone else ever feel that way then they see plants on their travels?
