This is a photo of our backyard in the Vancouver Version of Winter. The Pacific West Coast offers moderate temperatures, which means not a great deal of snow. Our river is always flowing and never ices completely over. There is always a place to enter.
Likewise, I am excited to wade in to this community and hope to find tribes within my diverse interests, including nature, slow food, photography, contemplative practices and EOS/Bitcoin.
I can see how my interests link and intertwine, however, for example, my yoga colleagues are not yet into cryptocurrency. I think that those within the Contemplative Practices would be all for the philosophies behind blockchain, cryptos and cyberpunking, given that there is more responsibility placed on the individual to manifest reality, and less trust placed in institutions for every day living.
I can see so many links between wanting to become self sustaining through living off grid, using permaculture practices for food and homesteading, and being deeply contemplative. So for me, the Steemit community at large feels like a comfortable pocket to slip into, especially being a conscientious defector from, dare I say it?, Facebook.
I am so intrigued by the philosophies of voluntarism that mark the crypto landscape at large, including the paradigm shift away from the potential for corruption within centralized organizations. I worked as a social worker for years, and can assure you that centralization serves those with power, and does not serve those who are marginalized or disenfranchised in any way. So many ideas of the current culture need to be examined as what is 'normative' is not always right action nor sustainable.
So many ideas to unpack, explore and communicate. I look forward to spirited and contemplative engagement.
