the back leg of this six-month-old Sumatran tiger cub was so badly mangled...
by an "ILLEGAL POACHER" snare that it had to be amputated!!!
He was lucky to survive at all.... having been trapped for four days before being discovered in the rainforest in Aceh Province on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
This picture is one of the entries by a Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017 finalist.

Also: this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition saw almost 50,000 entries from 92 countries.
The competition was first launched in 1965 by the BBC Wildlife Magazine.
The overall winners will be announced on 17 October at the Natural History Museum‘s stunning Hintze Hall.
