Sri Lanka is full of unique sights and sounds.
The Golden Temple in Dambulla City is know as Buddhism's spiritual centre in Sri Lanka, and it certainly warrants a visit.
Dating back to the First Century BC, the Golden Temple of Dambulla has been the centre of pilgrimage for Buddhists and Hindus alike for 22 centuries.

The place is easily identifiable from the roadside, comprising of a towering golden Buddha, golden stupa and a museum. Although the true beauty and wonder of the site as most say, the actual cave temples are high up on the rocks, since I was short on time, I didn't get a chance to visit it.

It was a serene experience vising such a holy and peaceful place. I didn't have the time to explore much as I had to catch the bus for my onward journey, but I do hope to visit again and have a good look around the place.
