Payphones have become a rare sight! Once upon a time, you could say payphones were very popular and common across the planet. But just like the landline telephones which all households used to possess in the past, the numbers of both these telecommunication devices have seen a steady decline and they're pretty much like an ancient relic now that you don't get to see very often. It may be because of the fact that probably everyone on the planet now owns a cellphone or has access to one, and also because they weren't worth the cost of maintaining. Below are some pictures of a beautiful, red payphone that I encountered during a trip.
With the advancement of mobile technology, even the size of cellphones and their various features have evolved and transformed considerably from what they once used to be, and it is even possible that just like payphones, our mobile phones might also become obsolete one day and we will see a form of communication that is nothing like what exists today.
When was the last time you saw/used a payphone?
