The color of decay is not necessarily gray or brown, it can be colorful which gives hope of rebirth. Nothing is permanent, only change and transformation, powered by Creation.
Now, everything seems to be motionless and pale but the spark of life glows inside everywhere. Fungi and bacteria are the most important decaying organisms on Earth, and without them life would be lost. There is much more life in decaying wood than in the sparkling white but sterile desert sand.
