See Cape Town, South Africa, through the eyes of a local...
Tired of those cheesy shots of Cape Town? Looking for more authentic reflections of the place you're hoping to visit? Craving a taste of the realness that lies beyond the tourist brochures? It's your lucky day!
I've decided to start a photojournal, documenting some of my favourite views of Cape Town. Why? Because I love my home. Here's your chance to fall in love with this land too... I'm only posting images here that I've taken with my smartphone and are unedited: because I love this Mother City raw and undiluted, just as she is...
Lion's Head from Camps Bay, at sunset on 27.07.2017

Table Mountain, from Rondebosch Common on 16.07.2017
Sometimes it's hard to avoid the cheesy shots: they're everywhere.... I'll endeavour to include some interesting factoids along with these photo diaries.... Like the fact that the true name of Table Mountain, is Hoerikwaggo... That's the name given to it by the San people, who were indigenous to the area. It means 'Mountain in the Sea'... There's a beautiful 5 day hiking trail called the Hoerikwaggo Trail, that you can arrange to do through Table Mountain National Park.

I hope you enjoy this journal as much as I enjoy making it! If you have suggestions of things you'd like to see, feel free to drop me a comment : ) .....Disclaimer: I spend a lot of time on the mountains, in the forest and by the ocean.... I am also a little bit in love with my subject, so this is not an unbiased reflection, it's just an honest one...
Ciao for now!
