My first lesson for artistic photography.
Yesterday I took my first ever photography lesson in person. I had done some seminars in the past, but they were online.
This time, my municipality has organizes free (:)) lessons once a week, for artistic photography and I could not let it pass by!
I went a bit late so I missed the first minutes of the class.
The instructor made an introduction about what a camera is made of.
After that, he asked us a definition about .. what is artistic photo.
What would you answer;
The below photo is just one of my shots, I do not know if it is artistic, I thought it would make a nice image.
We heard many different opinions about artistic photos
I said that they are the photos with which we want to pass a message.
Some others mentioned beauty, emotion, our instructor said that it is a poem with light and one of our students (who is a famous sculptor and artist) said that it is a sculpture in time.
Then the instructor said that artistic photos should have beauty and technique.
He shared that there are two main categories of photography. Street Images (mainly as photo reportage images) and landscape images.
After that we discussed about some winning images of a photo contest with theme every day life
This is one of them:
We discussed the synthesis, the light, and if we believed they were set up images or spontaneous ones.
Time passed very quickly, I was happy to see many students from different ages and I think that this will be an amazing experience.
I will try to post about all the lessons, so if you are interested in photography and would like to be tagged for the new posts, let me know!
So, tell me.. what do you think that an artistic photo is;
You can also post one below at the comments!
Thank you for taking the time to come by and happy Sunday!
