What is the SUPERMOON?
There are 3 types of full moon.
Supermoons are roughly 30% larger in area and 30%brighter than the smallest full moons. But they are only 15% brighter than an average full moon.A supermoon occurs when a full moon conicides with the being at its closest to earth. The scientific term for a supermoon is perigee-syzygy.Perigee is the point on the Moon's orbit nearest to Earth.Syzygy refers to the alignment of the Earth, Sun and Moon.A good time to see the supermoon would be at dusk, when it isnear the horizon. When close to the horizon, the moon can appear up to 3 times as big as when it is high in the sky. This is knows as the moon illusion.
