Late, late post tonight, Steemians! I try not to post at this hour as a general rule. I don’t know why. I guess it doesn’t really matter. Maybe I’ve conditioned myself a few hardforks past when reward windows were only a day. Many of you will be sound asleep when this goes live, others just waking up. Yeah. As I’m sitting here, screw it. I’ll post these whenever I sit down to write them, now that I think about it. I work best at night anyway, when the rest of the world is quiet and isn’t tugging at my sleeve to show me the new Five Nights At Freddy’s wallpaper he HAS to download. Oh! And speaking of
, if you aren’t already following this young man, please consider it. This Saturday, he’s having a big birthday party and it’ll be quite the to do!
Today had it’s ups and downs. and I discovered that several boxes from Amazon were marked as “delivered”, but no where to be found. I’d hate to jump to conclusions, but barring a mix up with UPS or USPS, it’s possible they were stolen right off our door step. The real concern is that a few presents for
’s aforementioned birthday were amongst the missing.
came to the rescue as good Uncle’s do, and ordered a replacement 3D Doodler pen for his nephew. It’ll be here in time for the festivities. That’s the important thing!
Tonight’s photography is from an event I did in Vegas this spring during Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend. I was a guest photographer for Ana Ferrer-Jenkins’ annual event, “Ladies First”. This was the second year I’d guest photographed for “Ladies First”. It was as much fun as the previous year. VLV is a brutal time for me with a schedule […both travel and photography] that would make your head spin. All my shoots get full production […including hair, make-up, location and at times, wardrobe]. Arriving as a guest photographer means that my only responsibility is shooting […my favorite part], and Ana does an outstanding job of production and coordination. I make good money with minimal stress.

This year’s event featured four beautiful ladies from the west coast. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, Viva Las Vegas is the largest vintage pilgrimage of the year with pinups from all over the world. Six months prior, we reserved my friend Yocelin’s beautiful mid-century modern home in Paradise Palms as our location to shoot. Tamera Von Tart was our make-up artist and Liz Garza of Silver Screen Vanity was our vintage hairstylist.
Our girls for “Ladies First” were outstanding. Marie, Christini and Carolina were brimming with excitement as they chose wardrobe from our lingerie sponsor, Black Cake Clothing. The fourth ended up being a friend of mine from years ago, a talented fashion illustrator named Victoria that I met through Instagram when she was still studying art in college while living in Italy. During all of Viva Las Vegas, I continued to exercise and drink fresh made juice. There was an abundance of good energy from the shoots and the people, and it fueled me for the remaining 10 days of the trip. I’m hopeful Ana will host “Ladies First” for a third year and bring me on, because it’s always a highlight of my VLV tour. Fingers crossed!
I post daily. Follow me for more photography, fashion, illustration, art and stories from the road.
