Standing at the top of a 1200m cliff staring down onto the valley below is a pastime of mine!
People in North America love climbing to the top of a mountain just for the sheer enjoyment of it. With the summit comes a beautiful view and a sense of accomplishment. You will forget about your daily life down below and you will be present on top of a mountain up in the sky!
Wind will blow and large birds will circle and you will be alone and at peace.
These images are from a hike I did up the Enderby cliffs in British Columbia Canada, an icon in the North Okanagan. This hike is a beginner to intermediate hike with the last view point (not the summit) around 5-6k from the starting point. The trail is quite clearly marked and there is a big parking lot at the head of the trail. I typically climb these about once a year.
Hiking is a fun way to get into nature and get some exercise, I like it because you can do it in a group or you can do it alone. If you are going to hike alone always remember you are in the wild and animal are unpredictable. Be safe and always learn about the proper safety gear and precautions before you go. I always have my trusty hiking protector with me for safety!
