Kailash Cave entry temple that houses Nandi, the cow diety that protects Shiva's larger temple. It boggles the mind how this temple and its bigger brother, behind it, were carved out of a single mountain of basalt. The dates for construction are believed to be between 650 and 1000CE but these dates are often disputed. This particular cave is the largest single carving known on earth.
