Earlier this year I hiked to the top of Mt. Amos (One of the mountains of 'The Hazards') in Freycinet National Park, Tasmania to try and catch the sunrise over Wine Glass Bay. Had to leave at around 3am to make it to the top in time but as you can see the result was absolutely worth it!
Freycinet is one of my favourite places on earth. It's this great peninsula that juts out off Tasmania's east coast with towering pink granite cliffs that tumble right into the ocean. A type of feldspar called orthoclase gives the mountains and coastline of Freycinet it's characteristic pink tint.
