Japan is one of my favourite countries. I love everything about it, the culture, the food, the cities, the people... I will admit first up that i love people watching, always have always will i guess.
Tokyo in particular is so great for people watching. I get the sense that because its so busy and dense with people and life that it must be hard to have a sense of community. Constantly surrounded by so many people and you don't know any of them.
I can't help but feel that this leads to a visual community, where people become a part of a subculture so that they can feel connected to strangers they see in the street, even if its only in visual way.
I guess this is what it means to be lonely in a big city
Still l could sit and watch tokyo go by for weeks at a time. Maybe i retire there one day
