Hello friends of Steemit!

This beautiful lagoon is located near Apartaderos (Merida State, Venezuela). It is more than 3,600 meters above sea level, with high mountain climate, very low temperatures, we stop Andean with vegetation such as the beautiful frailejones and the pines planted around it. In it there is a large number of species of butterflies, adapted to the climate, in addition to fish (trout) introduced into its waters years ago. This lagoon previously drained into the Rio Chama, due to the effects of the tectonic faults, it now drains into the Orinoco river, through the mucubaji ravine. It is of glacial origin, it is approximately 10,000 years old. It is observed surrounded by moraines, geoforms formed by a glacier.
We can access it through the trans-Andean road, about 20 - 30 min from the town of Apartaderos. In the lagoon we can take pictures, walk through the area, there are more lagoons nearby such as la Negra lagoon, eat in nearby restaurants, ride horses, photograph birds, among many other things.
Remember that it is a protected place, belongs to the Sierra Nevada National Park, and we must take care of it and maintain its ecosystem.
