A quick 30 second long exposure I took of a local highway called lake shore drive leading into Chicago.
The 30 second exposure time let’s cars that pass by cross the sensor and leave these streaks that you see (headlights or tail lights)
It makes for a beautiful play of light in the darkness and gives for a motion which makes the photograph come more alive.
A 30 second exposure time was set here as it made the best balance between having long sweeping lines while at the same time maintaining a correct exposure. Too long of an exposure and the image would be too bright and unnatural (as this was shot in the night, we want it to be darker)!
Hope you all enjoy :)
