Elaphomyces granulatus - The fruiting body has a diameter of 5 to 50 mm, mostly spherical, but sometimes slightly flattened, egg-shaped or bean-shaped. A slightly papery, crumbly, hue-colored surface, when moist, yellowish-orange; drying is getting ocher - brown, rusty - brown, brown. To the soil and roots of trees, the fruiting body is attached with yellowish, delicate, fragile, mycelial cords.
Peridium (outer cover), 1 to 2 mm thick, initially elastic, later hard, after cross-section whitish, creamy, gray-pink.
Occurrence: In mixed and coniferous forests, usually under spruce and pine; 4 to 8 cm below the surface of the earth. It grows graciously throughout the year. Common.
Value: Unaffected fungus.
