Hi photographers,
Here's a cool way to get your camera's EXIF information (the settings that you used when you took the picture) below your images quickly and efficiently.
For example,
Date Time Original: 2017:07:04 20:24:24
Exposure Time: 1/400
F Number: 5.60
Exposure Program: Aperture priority
ISO Speed Ratings: 800
Focal Length: 400
Model: Canon EOS 60D
Lens: EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM
I'm using Chrome for this, but there are similar extensions available for Firefox and other browsers.
Firstly, I downloaded the following extension.
This extension allows you to right-click on an image and get the EXIF into a pane on the right of the browser. In order to do this while you compose your post though, you need to right click on the image in your preview window and "Open Image In New Tab". For some reason, it doesn't seem to work in the preview pane itself when composing a post. Once you have done this, you can then right click and "Show Exif Data". This brings up a view as per below
Then you click on the following icon, which copies the EXIF data to the clipboard for pasting
You can configure what EXIF data you want to copy in the extension settings.
All in all, once you have the extension configured, it's a 10-second process to get the image EXIF below the image. I surround my EXIF data in < center > and < sup > tags to change the formatting slightly.
I'm going to use this for all my posts going forward. Hope you find it useful too.
Thanks for reading
