Like I explained in a previous post, our current warm weather is causally linked with the shitty weather @karja reports from Norway.
My family and I decided to go out to enjoy the weather and have lunch somewhere. We did and I don't think there is any need to have dinner today, at least for me.
I didn't have my real camera with me and all the pictures were taken with my phone camera.
Our initial plan was to have lunch at a restaurant operating at the ski lodge at Tapanila. My wife had heard from a colleague of hers that they had excellent food sold at a low price. No such luck. Just fish soup and no salads. We decided to go elsewhere. But the skiing looked good. The trails were in excellent condition despite the high temperature, which was +5 C today afternoon.
We ended up having lunch at Restaurant Lokki, which was a good decision. Their food was quite good for the price for a lunch buffet which was €22 for adults and €10 for a child under 12. The price included salads+starters, the main course and cake for dessert with coffee. I've had better for a lower price but the best places were closed at this time.
They also had salmon which I also tasted. The meat was well prepared but the sauce didn't taste much of anything.
We had a walk down at the lakeside in Mukkula. That building at the waterfront is an old storage building and there is a cafeteria in it.
Onwards to the pier.
The pier.
Mukkula Manor.
A hole made by an ice fisher. I'd say the ice was about 30-35 cm thick. Not clear ice but mostly porous ice formed out of slush. More than strong enough to carry the weight of an adult human. Would probably carry the weight of a car if have estimated the thickness correctly. But I wouldn't try.
Winter fun. There is so much snow that even this kind of weather won't melt it any time soon.
