This national costume inspired by the legend of Tombuakar (Dragon) at mountain Kinabalu situated at Sabah, Malaysia.
A long time ago live a mythical dragon at the peak of the mountain and own a Buliga (Grand Pearl). The Chinese Emperor lust for the precious pearl and ask his soldier to get it. This is one of the reason that give suggestion to why mount kinabalu was named as it. Many soldier had perished while attempting to relieve the dragon of its pearl and therefore many Chinese women became widows, where Kina translate as 'China' and Balu means widow.
This national costume incorporate with replica of the dragon and a staft representing the Buliga(grand pearl). Other than that using finest material such as brocade and velvet to create lavish persona, gold plated, beads and traditional ethnic laces.
This national costume also represent braveness as warrior which potrayed by our Malaysian representative
