Monsoon is a real treat for shutterbugs. As rains start pouring, we feel urge for photography like caffeine. These pictures are the result of my previous monsoon day out. Seeing these Langurs, old world monkey species which is wide spread in India, was an ultimate fun. Just look at them!
Their mornings are pretty chaotic, they have to search for breakfast noh...but through out the day they play, eat berries, jumps and take naps very often even when they are sitting.
Just like every mother on earth.
They literally take leap of faith.
...and a baby Langur.
Berry loot.
A mythological connection. Why they are Old world monkeys?
In India and Malaysia Lord Hanuman is widely worshiped. Our beloved Lord Hanuman is believed to have a face of this grey Langur and body of human. This is not just a myth but many traces found related to Ramayana era in which Lord Hanuman believed of serving God Sri Ram. Lord Hanuman possesses great power, wisdom and loyalty towards God Sri Ram.

Apes have lot of different species but this Langur monkey (simia entellus) is one of the oldest species.
