From our 2015 visit to the Grand Canyon in Arizona (USA). In the first side canyon you can see a geologic feature known as the Great Unconformity. Basically, what we have here a contact point between to rock units, only one is running near vertical, and the other runs horizontally on top. We call such a feature an unconformity. This one is great, as we can trace it across the continent.
