Hello my dear friends ,
I am back with the 2nd part of my experience at Rourkela Steel plant which I have visited in 2014 .In last post I have shared the outside pictures of the plant . Today I am gonna take you all into the steel plant .
When I saw these , The first thing was in my mind is , " Is that a train , Yes of course that's a train , But What a train is doing here " , Then I saw these containers which were linked with the engine . I had so many questions in my mind . Then I followed them to know what's they are actually carrying inside them. I guessed that there should be some raw material kinda things those containers are carrying inside them .
I still didn't able see anything .
Then finally .
There was so much temperature there but I needed to see that , and trust me it was an wow moment for me .
They are actually the liquid metals .
Then those liquid metals goes to the blast furnace . On 3rd February 1959, then president Rajendra Prasad inaugurated RSP's first blast furnace named 'Parvati' when the company was known as Hindustan Steel Limited (HSL). Then the Rourkela Steel Plant became a unit of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).
Then what happens , I don't need to write or say , You can understand everything only by seeing the pictures .
This is the control room .
And finally these are the products .
Ain't those so massive ?
Although it was a so hot and rough day , It was such a great and cool experience of my life . I already studied about steel plants in books , But when you see them practically it will b a whole different experience . Its been almost 4 years since I have visited the steel plant , But I can still remember the pungent smell of the liquid metals of that steel plant . Really it was a great experience of my life .
And about this picture ? Ha ha , I have no idea what I was trying to do . Someone asked me , "can you lift that heavy metal piece ". I said yes , of course only in my dreams and only If I have the super power like Hulk .
