Osaka Station
Recently renovated with a massive expansion of two tower buildings filled with stores connected by the JR Station on the ground floor as well as beneath with subterrainian passages and an elevated bridge/square. It has quite the atmosphere of a futuristic sci-fi movie to be honest! The glass and lights can be a bit tricky due to reflections but it's a great challenge!
Toki-no-hiroba
The Clock Square connecting the North and South Tower buildings.
This is one shot where the tripod came in very handy. Since it is a very busy station many people passed in front of the camera as I was taking this shot. However, by using a long shutter speed (close the aperture down to maintain a good exposure level) any people that were moving simply disappeared. The few people on the bench remain as they did not move for the duration of the exposure.
Beneath the tracks
This is an underpass beneath the JR tracks that you can see in the first picture.
Again using the tripod and a long exposure, the cars passing by vanish, but light sources such as the headlights and brakelights remain. I particularly like the transition from red to white that was created!
Starship: Warp Speed
It's not an actual starship but rather a bus. I think buses might be one of the best vehicles to have drive through a long exposure frame, all of the lights for the destination signs, interior, and signals make for a wonderful "warp speed" effect.
