This year I had the first experience of night diving in the lakes of our strip. After trying once, we went to them every day, despite the cold water and hordes of mosquitoes on the shore. We found the remains of the old bridge at the bottom of the Valdai Lake. The fish kingdom is thickly overgrown with shells, grass and a sponge.
But first we had to wait for dasrkness . If the night dives at sea usually start at 7 and end at the beginning of the 9th. Then in June to the north of Moscow to wait for the darkness is not easy. The first day we tried to start gathering after 10 pm. But even when we came out of the water the sun just reached the horizon.
Then we repeatedly shifted time. As a result, the best in terms of darkness and actually shooting was a gap of about 12 hours. It was true that the next day it was not easy to get up and be ready at the morning.
So why dive so late? What is the use in our reservoirs? We do not have shrimp and crabs. But there is a big advantage. The fact is that the daytime fish falls asleep just as it does in the tropical seas. In the afternoon, many fish can not be photographed. They are very fearful and do not let in close. At night, if you do not shine too much, you can shoot almost right.
The second advantage can be the night hunting scene. Pike, who constantly lives under one of the bridge's supports, with great pleasure caught and within a few seconds swallowed a small sleepy bass. In the daytime, it is almost impossible to find and photo such a scene. Just like burbot creeping out of various holes. Some of them were quite decent sizes. The most interesting thing is that before that, for 5 years of shooting on the lake, I have not seen any of them ...
