Guava monkey or cashew mede (Anacardium occidentale) is a kind of Anacardiaceae plant originating from Brazil and has "fruit" that can be eaten. The more famous of cashew cashews are cashew nuts, cashew nuts or cashew nuts; seeds are usually dried and fried to be used as a variety of snacks. Botanically, this plant is not at all a member of the jambu (Myrtaceae) or nuts (Fabaceae), but rather closer kinship with mango (Anacardiaceae tribe).
