I present to you some nice views as seen in the local peat bogs, "local" being Twente, The Netherlands, near the German border.
These peat bogs are still alive, meaning that peat is still being formed there and trees still die there, as you can see in the last photo. They house a great many rare species of flora and fauna, and are probably the last bits of relatively untouched primeval nature we have in The Netherlands.
Most people avoid these places on their walks, but I love them, despite the sogginess, mosquitos, snakes, and other inconveniences.
If you walk here, you should stay on the paths unless you have a guide. Only vote buyers are encouraged to roam freely.
