I have never seen the gentians in the local peat bog do as well as this year; there are thick clusters of them growing all over:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO200, f8, 1/80s
To be precise, these are marsh gentians (Gentiana pneumonanthe), klokjesgentianen in Dutch:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f5.6, 1/125s
Sadly, no sign of the little butterfly called Alcon blue (Phengaris alcon), gentiaanblauwtje in Dutch, that lays eggs on gentians only. They seem to have disappeared from this peat bog, but I did see them elsewhere this year.
Thanks for watching!
